What Is A 501(C)(3) Organization?

A 501(c)(3) organization is one which is recognized at tax exempt by the Internal Revenue Service, pursuant to section 501(c)(3) of the United States Tax Code.

The section confers tax exempt status on corporations that are organized and operated exclusively for religious, charitable, scientific, testing for public safety, literary, or educational purposes. Truth In Fitness's mission is to educate the public about the relationship between diet and exercise. We conduct scientific studies of the "conventional wisdom" about this subject and in doing so demonstrate what holds up under our scrutiny and what is just hype or an outright lie.
